The red earth that made her
Is the same hue as mine
And when her laugh rings out
I know the sound
When I pinch her
Somehow it hurts me
But I cannot place her
Beautiful silk wrapped around my neck
Artfully snuffing the life out of me
Allowing you replace my essence
With something more familiar to you
Something pliable
How did you steal me from me and turn me into such a lie?
Deprived and isolated
With only you for company
Gasping for breath
Wilting and withering
Wounds threatening to fester and putrefy
The woman I was raised to be
Will slowly fade away
Never to be present again
How could I lose her?
I must thrive but not with you in sight
I can no longer live this lie my love.
