I know not the words,
Nor have I the charm,
To win the most graceful of birds,
Or her gentle countenance disarm.
I know not why I send this e-card,
Neither do I try to discern it,
I know not the lyrics of any bard,
Nor of these feelings of mine how to interpret.
Yet I know one thing for sure,
On a day like this, one should make one’s feelings known,
Or like this mute swan,
A painless silence endure.
